We think on what we perceive and how we think about something is completely different than anyone else. So doesn't that make our perception subjective? Or do we pretend to have a common perception in our society. If we are all unique and one of a kind, with different brains and sensory systems, can we say that we see or hear things like anyone else!
When I saw this tree I was immediately drawn to it. The upper half was completely white branches, very smooth. It spoke to me for some reason and I walked over and leaned against the trunk and took this picture. It took my breath away. To someone else it is just a tree. Does that make me better or right for seeing beauty? NO. It's a beauty only I see and feel.
The same goes for us as individuals. All of us different, unique and special. We all have different stories and chapters in our life. Why then do we support industry that wishes to create cookie cutters? When did we stop believing what we learned from Sesame Street and start believing what our culture wanted us to believe about our bodies and our minds? I am posing these questions because today in this social media society it takes one person to sit behind their computer screen and make one "backhanded compliment" to hurt someone else and that becomes that persons perception.
What we think on becomes our reality. My wish for all of us is that we can work on our perception of ourselves, treating ourselves with loving kindness and compassion, knowing the true nature of our spirit and celebrating it!
